How cross-docking works
Inbound freight is unloaded, scanned, sorted by destination and staged directly at outbound doors. No putaway, no racking, no pick — dwell time is measured in hours. It fits retail replenishment, promotional launches, consolidation programs and any freight whose destination is already known when it arrives.

Transloading: container to trailer
Ocean containers are built for ships, not U.S. highways. Transloading unloads a 40-foot container and rebuilds the freight onto domestic 53-foot trailers — fitting the contents of roughly three containers into two trailers, cutting linehaul cost and returning the container fast to avoid per-diem. Palletizing, shrink-wrapping and labeling happen on the dock.

AI-optimized dock operations
Through crossdocking.ai, the network applies AI to dock scheduling, load matching and dwell-time prediction — assigning doors, sequencing unloads and matching inbound freight to outbound capacity before the truck arrives. The result is a dock that flows instead of queues.
